The 2011 Linkers Grand Ball

Since Christmas is knocking at our doors and the end of the year is coming soon, whishes to show some appreciation to the Linkers Community.
Every member of the group is cordially invited to participate in the annual Linkers Grand Ball. Be part of the Linking experience and play along.

Rules for participating:
i) Comment on this journal ->  Write a greeting, say something funny or draw us something nice. It doesn't matter.
ii) Link 2 (two) newly submitted deviations. They have to be submitted between November 1st and December 31st. Your deviations must be Linked to participate. (Linking will be verified)
iii) Send us a note to dALinkSystem with "The Linkers Grand Ball" in the subject line. Include the thumbcodes of your 2 newly Linked deviations.

One winners will be chosen from each of these 2 categories: Photography, Literature and Miscellaneous.

You may wonder why is this a Special Edition...
First of all it's marthig's birthday today Go ahead and wish her something nice. I think she's one of the coolest person's around here she turned 72 today and she's very active here on dA, can you imagine that? ...ai bet she's the coolest mother and grandmother there is Happy Birthday Martha I wish all the best and lots of health, may you be with us more years from now own your presence is always pleasent!




Another reason why there is a reason to make a Special Edition are the Winter Holidays I love Christmas I love how everyone is more happy this time of the year and they want to spend more time with their families, how almost everyone town becomes a small Las Vegas of Christmas lights, how in every store you can listen to Christmas Carols while you're shopping...and how amazing the nature looks like when it snows (if it snows).
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, may the Holidays find you at home near your family and your loved ones! Take some time to meditate on the year that's past, smile for the happy moments and learn from every experience you've been through. Look forward for the year that's about to come. Hope for better times, hope for more love and inner peace!

Before I Even Met YouHe built me a house out of willow bones. I didn't know how to thank him, so instead of smiling I said "We speak with different hopes," I pretended like his laugh could make me smile, make me forget the ridges in his palms were like severed river beds.
"Of course we do."
"I'm serious."
"You're never serious."
"Only about you."
"You joke too much"
"Maybe."
His embrace was erratically cold. Irony didn't begin to describe it. I guess you loose warmth with age. Or maybe it's with lies. I may never know.
"Grand tour?"
"Sure."
Winter curled up inside his eyes as we stood with our toes pressing against the first steps of the run-down church.
"We don't have to go inside."
"Why not?"
"I could describe it to you."
"Grand tour, remember?"
"Oh. Right."
A hollow wind began grappling at his lips while we climbed the short flight of stairs. He spoke but I couldn't make out the words, I was feeling dreadful for even thinking of returning here, again.
"Stop feeling bad. I like coming back here."
I fidge Same Heart, Different ChestThe silence in his arms
spoke all the words
between a thousand years
and yesterday.
He told me:
"You could not have forgotten my face."
I had.
I am spray painting black doves
on the bellies of his walls,
but his walls were made of paper.
They folded and withered
as paint kissed cardboard barriers;
sleep would have taken me
if invisible entities
didn't pry my eyes awake.
In return, he made the galaxies
churning in my lungs rearrange,
and sideswipe into my heart.
Sixty-four years is too long
for anyone to hold their breath. The Tails of Falling StarsShe was awestruck by the backs of moons that were
too far away to see with her unaided ocean eyes;
her petal fingers lace around the necks of stars.
Tracing their distant narrative, she becomes
an oracle, picking at Castor and Pollux;
the innards of sacrificial lamb becoming
the threshold of her prophetic quasar.
Always in search for the answers
that remain as churning syllables,
rotting at the bottom of her myrtle lungs.
She harvests the tree-branch limbs of galaxies,
to appraise the fruits of fate;
calculating the depths of nebulae, nuances of flesh.
She remembers how she grew to fear space.
