Can you believe that in a week it's already December? I'm sooo eager to start decorating the house. I also want to prepare some cards from my shots to send them to some friends of mine :aww:  The entire city will be lit up and decorate, there'll be caroling in every store  I just melt away even when I think about it :xmas:

** Andrei has left this world this afternoon :(  I really wanted him to get better and had so many hopes. Unfortunately life had other plans for him. Thank you very much to all of you who kept him in your prayers and who helped any way you could. I appreciated it and he did too. Thank you very much.

May his soul rest in peace

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've never done this before. But I've seen it happen happen here a lot of times and I've helped others as I could. Even if it was only by spreading the word.

Now I'll you to do this for me too. I need you to at least spread the word of the story I'm about to tell you.
I come from a small town in Romania, it has only about 6.000 people or so. Maybe less. I've grown up there and even if I wasn't the type to have a lot of friends around me, it wasn't hard to know the most of the kids my age since the town is quite small. Mostly, nothing happens there, it's very quiet. But when something out of the ordinary happens, everyone hears about it, talks about it. Unfortunately, sometimes they talk more than they should, but that's not the point.

The point is that a boy (Andrei) of my age (23) has been recently diagnosed with leukemia and it's pretty bad. Actually, it's bad. He's in the hospital now, receiving some type of treatment, hopefully he'll respond so that later on the doctors might operate on him and fix everything that needs to get fixed. I don't know him very well, I'm not part of his closest friends, but I don't it even matters in this kind of situations. What matters is that he needs help. A lot of help. He needs support, positive thoughts to keep him going, and he needs a lot of money in order to pay for his medicine, the hospital bills and all the treatment. Everything costs around 100.000 Euro. That's a lot of money for everyone. I can't even start to imagine how much that is and what could one buy with all that money. I can only imagine that that amount of money could save his life and give him a second change. Even if everyone from my town would donate 1 or 2 euros it still wouldn't be enough. That's where you come in. You, with the big and generous hearts who are out there and have the possibility to help others. It doesn't matter the amount, what matters is that you helped as you could, what matters is that at least you tried.

What amazed me is the support of his friends. They have done so much in the couple of weeks since he's in the hospital. Andrei's mother was most of the time with him in the hospital, his father had to take care of all the paperwork and other things and his friends have organized all sort of events, have spread the words as they could to help raise the money that their friend needs so much now. By now they only have a couple of thousand euros and everyday he spends a certain amount on medicine and everything else he needs in the hospital.  His life actually depends on that money. Having such great friends gives you strength to fight, but without the treatment, well…I don't want to think about that.

They have opened two bank accounts at Raiffeisen Bank:
RO55RZBR0000060015060981 – account in Lei (for those who want to donate and are from Romania)
RO27RZBR0000060015061000 – account in Euro.

As I told you before, every act of your kindness helps. Spread the word, mention him in your prayer, donate if you have the possibility and you'll be thanked. If not by him and his family, life will thank you in some way for your generous act. His life depends in you, it's in your hands to reach out to him and help!

We're here to help each other in times of trouble, we're here to make the life's of others a little easier to bare, we're here to bring a smile on the faces of those who have forgotten how to smile, we're here to make the burden of others a little easier, we're here to share the joys and sorrows, we're here for each other. I believe in the power of humanity when they all fight for the same purpose. I believe that magic can happen if we all help in making it happen. Let's help Andrei believe in magic, too.

September has been quite gentle :) pretty nice weather, warm afternoons. October's here and the wind smells like something sweet and sad. There's a sort of nostalgia in the air. Fall always makes me feel this way.

Dear September..

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 3, 2012, 2:42 AM
My Blog | Gallery | Photography |My facebook page

September is the first month of Autumn. Days are already gotten shorter and in the morning when I go to work it's quite cold outside even though at noon it becomes very warm. We can almost say that summer's gone. Now we think of all the great stuff we've done during summertime: holidays, tanning, swimming, hiking and a lot of photographs. Now it's time to go back to work, kids start school in a couple of days and nature transforms itself in a beautiful pallet of golden, rusty and red tones. (can't wait :eager:)

As of me, I attented the first wedding as a photographer a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't so bad :D I really hope it won't be the last time. I also had a couple of private photoshootings with some friends of mine and they also went pretty well. You can always check my facebook page to see what I've been up to lately ;) www.facebook.com/K.K.Photograp…

Hope your summer was as good as mine :sun: for now it's time to say goodbye to good old Summer and welcome our dear Fall :aww:

Suddenly summer moved on.

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 12, 2012, 4:37 AM
My Blog | Gallery | Photography |My facebook page

I've neglected very much my account here lately. But it's been a very busy period for me. Besides work and my 365 days of photography project, my boyfriend came home for 3 weeks 'cause he's currently working in Belgium. So I also had one week off from work to spend it with him. So I really didn't had time to log in regularly here. I apologize to all of you for being so behind with everything but I had much more important things to do :aww:
Last night I've attended for the first time a wedding as a photographer. It was quite interesting and hopefully it will not be the last one :D
In a month from now summer will be almost gone, hopefully I'll start having more time to spend it here than I did lately. I really miss those times when I used to write journals every week and make a lot of features.

Enough with the chatting around.. :giggle: enjoy the features :aww:

My Blog | Gallery | Photography |My facebook page

First of all, Happy 4th of July to all americans here :aww:  I also have a day off from work today :D so that's cool!

How is your summer until now? :sun: It's been a hell of a June here in Romania. Everyday high temperatures, 37-39 degrees celsius in the shadow, who knows how much in the sun...
I'd sleep at my workplace, that's how terrified I am when I have to leave home at 5 pm

Ohh...I've cut my hair again :giggle: like quiet short :D I'll update my ID and you'll be able to see it ;)
What are your plans for this summer? Any holiday plans?
I have none. I don't think I'll afford to go somewhere far since I bought a new camera month ago :giggle: but I'm not sorry. I'll do my best to take many good shots and keep going with my 365 days of photography project :)

Plumes of purple smoke swirl and mix with streams of green and yellow. Time ceases to exist; one moment blends into the other in an incoherent mess. And then I'm melting - I can see my own veins seep through my skin and I feel myself sinking. Panic and fear begins to take control, but then I realize something. Isn't this what I wanted all along? To disappear and cease to exist? Of course, the feeling of dissipating is an illusion, but an illusion is good enough for me. After all, that's what I've been faced with all my life. Illusions. Smoke and mirrors.
So I immerse myself in this feeling and watch in awe as my flesh twists and bends and finally evaporate into bright pink smoke. There is no pain, just a strange giddiness that makes me laugh. I s

The big news is that I finally have a DSLR camera  it's a 1100D from Canon  I've been waiting for this day for a long time, you can't imagine how excited I was when I got the package, I'm still excited...but now I have to spend a lot of time with my new toy 'cause the Fujifilm I used to have works a little different.
But I'm happy. That I can say. This was one of my wishes for this year: to get a camera, a canon camera

Last week was my birthday :cake: wish I could share with all of you a piece of cake  Thanks all of you who've wished me Happy Birthday and a special thanks to those who've dedicated me their artworks. Take a look at these wonderful gifts I've received :aww:

May!

Journal Entry: Tue May 1, 2012, 10:21 AM
My Blog | Gallery | Photography |My facebook page

I'm still more caught up with real life than dA :giggle: I've been a little behind with posting my usual news article for some groups, I apologize for that. I would have done it in time if real life wouldn't take so much time, but living out there in the real world isn't that bad either :)
My 365 days photography project keeps me busy too, at least I don't really get the chance to just take good photographs, I'm always hunting something new to photograph and to post it. It's not easy and I still have a long way until I finish it, but I really really want to pull this through :D
I'm definetly a Spring person. It becomes more and more clear that Spring is my favourite season. It gives me more energy, I feel better, a little happier. Nature can put a smile on someone's face :) The beauties and the surprises nature gives have no price.

I've started watching a few days ago a new series called "Heroes". Has any of you heard about it or is any of you watching it? I'm still at the first season and I find quite okay. Let me know what you think!

I'll leave you now to enjoy some gorgeous pieces I've recently found

Why Free Market Capitalism FailsIn this essay, I expose the flaws in the two mechanisms that are supposed to power the free market: Adam Smith's invisible hand and trickle down economics.  The notion of the invisible hand holds that in a free marketplace, the buyer's self-interest will tend to drive the price down, while the seller's self-interest will tend to drive the price up, so that both parties' self-interest will naturally cause the price to settle on an amount that both find reasonable.  Trickle-down economics maintains that the rich are the ones who start and expand businesses and hire employees, so the laws should favor them increasing their wealth as much as possible so they can hire more people, thus growing the economy.
These concepts look good on paper, but the best way to evaluate any idea is to see how it works in practice.  Let's start by analyzing nationa

Nightmare at SnoresvilleWhen I got my reservations for a 24 hour train journey in the first class air conditioned compartment of the Amritsar Mail (a long route train) I had rose tinted dreams and visions of an elite compartment, attendants in waiting, hot meals delivered in time wrapped in silver foil and a peaceful slumbering journey cradled in the lap of bliss, herself.
Reality however has an evil sense of humour.
The journey had started off well enough with another amiable gentleman who shared the four berth compartment with me.
After a light snack of samosas and tea, I read my RD magazine and chatted a little with my fellow passenger. Dinner came at 9.20 pm after which I tucked myself in and let the gentle rocking of the train lull me to sleep.
Disturbance came in the form of two innocent looking men who boarded the train and invaded the peaceful haven at 10.30 pm. Their croaks and grunts of chitter chatter had already awakened me and although unamused, I had to wait patiently for them to settle down and
Linked to Fate's Practical JokeFate has a sense of humor.  It doesn't normally target me for its practical jokes; after all, I'm only a regular girl who grew up in a small town.  But my senior year of high school fate went out of its way to torment me and the rest of the members of the high school band.
I went to Melba High School; it was a tiny little school in the middle of Hicksville, Idaho.  That wasn't the real name for the town, actually, it was Melba, just like the school; Hicksville is just a better fit. The town, with a stunning population of 500, was actually smaller than the school.  It was so small in fact that a pen-pal once sent me a letter addressed to Shannon Johnston, Melba, ID and it arrived with no trouble whatsoever.  Technically, once you got more than four miles outside of the miniscule two-block assortment of the post office, school, two bars, five churches, and the American Legion, you were no longer in Melba, but out in the middle of vast farmland that seemed to lay outside the jurisdict

Doesn't it sometimes happen to you that you start making a new journal entry and you don't know what to write?..you put the features and all the contest winners, but you can't find your words.
I'm having one of those moments :giggle:

Change of subject. Have you heard about the Kony 2012 campaign? Actually it's a campaign by The Invisible Children against Kony, Aiming To Bring Joseph Kony To Justice.
Joseph Kony is the world's worst war criminal. The LRA is no longer active in northern Uganda (where it originated) but it continues its campaign of violence in democratic republic of Congo, Central African Republic and South Sudan. In Its 26-year history, the LRA has abducted more than 30,000 children and displaced at least 2.1 million people.
There's a lot more information here: www.kony2012.com/ and a great video where you can find out more.

On Saturday, 31 March it's Earth Hour. How do you celebrate it? Do you usually turn your lights off? They have also made a great video to promote this great movement that has grown more with every year. www.youtube.com/watch?feature=…

I'll definetly participate as I find this action very inspiring! :earth:

I'd like to know how are you all doing? But I'm not asking just to be polite, I'd really like to know. Is there anything important going on in your lives?
Unfortunately I seem to have less and less time to spend here. I'm very behind with reading your journals and blogs. I managed to go through some deviations today and I might have to leave some groups, they are too many and my deviations stack is always full. Real life takes up most of my time and sometimes I come home from work and I just want to do nothing. strange feeling, ha?

As I've said in my last journal entry I've started a 365 days photography project on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/K.K.Photograp… and it's going very well, I'm quite pleased with what I've done so far. I thought of uploading the photos here too, but I don't know, I'm not sure what I'll do..

I am standing in my kitchen
wearing my dark blue dressing gown
building a time machine
from assorted cutlery
and a broken microwave.
I am visiting you
three years ago.
I have calendars for you
with notes written each day:
some are highlighted orange
to show you when to ignore
the things I say.
Others are circled blue,
and on these occasions
I meant every word.
I am smiling at you,
already knowing the day you leave
I will understand
in time, despite what I say.
You look at me quizzically:
bemused by this odd smiling.
It’s four years later:
upsetting things we said
seem like empty noise,
instinctive animal-thrashings
against the inevitable.
Clockhands and calendars are arbitrary.
It’s now fourteen years later:
you are fond memories,
all golden, sepia-toned,
like a creature held in amber.
Then it’s last year again,
it’s spring and also autumn
and I’m sleeping off my bruises,
and waltzing round the cherry-trees
that grow in groves at Cornwall park.

365 days Photography Project

I've started s 365 days of Photography Project on my Facebook page. I'll take every day a photograph, write a quote on it and post it on facebook. Of course you may follow me there ;) I even ask you to if you have an account -> www.facebook.com/K.K.Photograp…

I'm a little behind on your journal entries, I've having a quite bad cold the last week. I was coughing so bad that the doctor gave me antibiotics :( I'm doing better now and hopefully this week I'll manage to go through my messages here.

I've posted a photograph with a bonsai in my scrapbook asking for some advice. Well it seems he's doing just fine :aww: I think I'll have to shear it a little. :giggle:

..and Spring is just around the corner :w00t: :sun:
